Authorities are offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person -- or persons -- who beat and strangled a pit bull, before abandoning the injured dog in the middle of a road in Central Islip on Monday night. Suffolk County SPCA Chief Roy Gross said the dog was found near the intersection of Route 111 and Sage Street.
