Program to help young farmers on LI to take applications in April

A new program designed to help young farmers purchase new equipment will begin taking applications in April, officials said Monday. The Farmers of the Future initiative seeks to boost farming on Long Island, particularly in Suffolk County, where the average age of farmers is the mid-50s.
