Smithtown board votes to appoint former auditor as new comptroller

Musgnug, 62, of Huntington, who served on that town's board from 1994 to 1997, was appointed to the Smithtown post through the end of the year at a $100,000 annual salary. He replaces Louis Necroto, who began working earlier this month as Suffolk County deputy chief comptroller.
