A 76-year-old man was seriously injured when he was struck by a car while crossing a Huntington Station street Wednesday evening, authorities said. Suffolk County Police say Zahir Wahidi, 76, of Huntington Station, was walking across New York Avenue when he was struck by a 2004 Honda, just north of Saddler Court, at approximately 6 p.m. Wednesday.
