Police officers from the Suffolk County Highway Patrol Bureau Selective Alcohol Fatality Enforcement Team , assisted by New York State troopers, conducted the checkpoint on Route 110 between 11:10 p.m. Friday and 3:06 a.m. Saturday. The operation was conducted for the prevention of injuries and fatalities associated with driving while ability impaired by alcohol and/or drugs, particularly during the Halloween weekend, police said.
