Suffolk County police officers and a neighbor rescued a 66-year-old woman from a house fire in Centereach early Sunday morning. According to a police report, the Sixth Precinct officers responded to a 911 call reporting a fire that started about 3:15 a.m. at a home at 36 Forest Rd. When they arrived the building was engulfed in flames and a woman appeared to be trapped on the second floor.
