A 66-year-old woman was struck and killed by a car as she attempted to cross 5th Avenue in Bay Shore Tuesday night, police said. According to police, Ishwer Wadhwa, of Bay Shore, was crossing 5th Avenue near Bailey Avenue when she was struck by a 2000 Nissan Maxima that was traveling southbound on 5th Avenue at 8:47 p.m. Wadhwa was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
