Copiague schools consider $55M referendum to repair buildings, add classrooms

The hamlet of Copiague is girding for a struggle over a school bond referendum for a potential $55 million in improvements. School board trustees at a specially scheduled meeting last week directed staff to sketch out cost scenarios for the project, a pared-down version of a $69.4 million proposal voters rejected in November 694-383.
