Suffolk Treasurer Angie Carpenter officially picked as Islip Town supervisor

Angie Carpenter, Suffolk County's treasurer, was announced by the Islip Town Board on Thursday as its pick for the next town supervisor. Carpenter, who was nominated by the Islip GOP executive committee earlier this month, had been scheduled to be appointed Tuesday at a Town Board meeting.
