January 30th, 2015 - Suffolk County Police First Squad detectives are investigating a crash that seriously injured a woman in Copiague last evening. Blanche Pope, was walking across New Highway, between 41st Street and 42nd Street, when she was struck by a 1989 GMC pickup truck that was traveling northbound on New Highway at approximately 6:30 p.m. Pope, 53, of Copiague, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital via Suffolk County Police helicopter.
