Bay Head man survives boat sinking

A Bay Head resident along with two other crew members were rescued from the Atlantic Ocean on Saturday after the tugboat they were on sank off the shore, here, according to Suffolk County Police. Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives and the U.S. Coast Guard are investigating the sinking of the 1991 62-foot Sea Bear tugboat, owned by Wittich Brothers Marine, Inc., which occurred at approximately 2 p.m. between one and two miles south of Barrett Beach, Fire Island, New York.
