CENTRAL ISLIP, N.Y. - A woman walking near a pond by a courthouse in Central Islip spotted a one-foot-long alligator and called the authorities. Suffolk County SPCA Chief Roy Gross said someone dumped the alligator in the water and his investigators have been searching for the reptile with no luck.
