For the benefit of both the Suffolk County Police Department and the community it serves, a Community Forum will take place at the Congregational Church of Patchogue on Monday, May 4th at 7:30 in the evening to discuss the following and other pertinent questions: * Have we come too far in significant improvements in the past few years since the hate crime killing of Marcelo Lucero and the subsequent strained relations between the community and the Suffolk County Police Department, leading to a Department of Justice investigation, to risk future allegations of misconduct that could be confirmed or negated by the use of body cameras by police officers? * What is the position of the Suffolk County Police Department as regards the issuance of body cameras, and how does that compare to Nassau County and other police departments across the country at this time of profound civil disturbances ...
