Nearby: Coast Guard Rescues Boater Who Ran Aground In A Multi Agency Rescue

On Weds December 17th, at approximately 11:20 PM Suffolk County Police received a report of a missing boater in the Great south bay near Bellport. According to the victims family he left in a 23 foot vessel from a boat launch area on Beaverdam Rd. Police immediately dispatched boats from the Marine Bureau as well as a police helicopter to search the area beginning in Bellport.
