LIPA to pursue 11 solar arrays in Suffolk, rejects proposed offshore wind farm

LIPA plans to pursue 11 large solar arrays in Suffolk County to expand its green-energy sources but reject an offshore wind farm because of its cost, according to authority documents. LIPA trustees are scheduled to vote Wednesday morning to allow authority officials to pursue the 11 solar arrays on large land parcels in Calverton, Manorville, East Shoreham, Medford, Yaphank and Kings Park.
