Police: Woman rescued after kayak overturns in Long Island Sound

A Connecticut woman whose kayak overturned in Long Island Sound on Saturday morning was quickly rescued by Suffolk County police and U.S. Coast Guard members, authorities said. Martha Bailey, 60, of Cheshire, Connecticut, was kayaking five miles north of Roanoke Point in Riverhead at about 10:50 a.m. when her vessel tipped over, throwing her into water, Suffolk police said.
