A 79-year-old man was rescued Monday after he crashed into a backyard pool in Commack and was pulled from the water by the homeowner, police say. A Commack man is being hailed as a hero Monday night after he rescued an elderly man who accidently drove into his backyard pool, Suffolk County police said.
