Southampton Town Trustees Purchase Beach In Flanders

Southampton Town Trustees have purchased four acres of beach overlooking Reeves Bay in Flanders for the first time since state law enabled them was enacted last year. The Suffolk County Legislature last week approved the purchase of the land at the end of Long Neck Boulevard on Tuesday Sept 9. "The reason why [we purchased the land] was because all over the county, sand is dredged for projects and there is a need for an area to deposit the sand on," Southampton Town Trustees President Eric Schultz said.
