December 29th, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Vehicular Crime Unit detectives are investigating a fatal motor vehicle crash in which a pedestrian was struck by a Suffolk County police car. Craig Schiffer, 54, was crossing Main Street last night at 10:34 p.m. when he was struck by a police vehicle that was traveling eastbound on Main Street in response to a 911 call in East Islip .
