Cops: 2 arrested in Dix Hills gas station robbery

Two men were arrested on a dead-end street early Thursday morning shortly after robbing a gas station in Dix Hills and throwing the store's cash register out the getaway car window as police pursued them, Suffolk County police said. Shane McAdams, 20, of 81 Horton Dr., Huntington Station, and Nicholas Schmiedel 21, of 1 Gables Ct., Dix Hills, were each charged with second-degree robbery.
