Fifty-Seven Summonses Issued at Motorcycle Safety Checkpoint

September 29, 2014 - Suffolk County Police Highway Patrol Bureau officers conducted a motorcycle safety checkpoint today on the eastbound lanes of the Long Island Expressway between exits 65 and 66 in Yaphank . Highway Patrol officers stopped 134 motorcycles between 11:05 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. as they passed through the checkpoint and a total of 57 summonses were issued for the following safety violations: In addition, Robert Russo, 43, of North Babylon , was arrested for Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 2nd Degree.
