Use of GPS systems to track cars without permission banned by Suffolk County

Suffolk County, Long Island has now passed a law making it illegal to place electronic tracking devices on someone's vehicle without their permission. The legislation passed unanimously yesterday, will actually go into affect within approximately 60 days, when violators will be faced with punishment of up to a year in jail and/or a $1,000 fine.
