Rocky Point Driver Sentenced to Two Years for Head-on Collision

A 24 year-old Rocky Point man who was driving while under the influence of drugs when he collided head-on with a car driven by a woman in Shoreham was sentenced Tuesday to two years in prison by Suffolk County Judge Richard Ambro. Denis Karachopan was convicted last year of driving his BMW over the centerline and striking a 2008 Nissan Altima head-on on Route 25A in Shoreham on Feb. 5, 2013.
