Harold Edelman, of Medford , was walking southbound across Nesconset Highway near Hallock Road when he was struck by a 2012 Nissan Cube that was traveling eastbound on Nesconset Highway at 11:15 p.m. Edelman, 70, suffered serious head injuries and was transported by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

Suffolk County Police arrested a man for driving while intoxicated after he crashed his vehicle on the Long Island Expressway with his two daughters in the vehicle last evening. According to police, Mauricio Zamora, of Ronkonkoma crashed his 2014 Honda Accord into the roadway median with his daughters, ages 9 and 11, in the vehicle at 10:24 p.m. The daughters were transported to Huntington Hospital via Dix Hills Fire and Rescue and were treated for minor injuries.

Bay Head man survives boat sinking

A Bay Head resident along with two other crew members were rescued from the Atlantic Ocean on Saturday after the tugboat they were on sank off the shore, here, according to Suffolk County Police.
