Harold Edelman, of Medford , was walking southbound across Nesconset Highway near Hallock Road when he was struck by a 2012 Nissan Cube that was traveling eastbound on Nesconset Highway at 11:15 p.m. Edelman, 70, suffered serious head injuries and was transported by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he is listed in critical condition.

March 19, 2015 - Suffolk County Police today arrested a man after he crashed into a restaurant, seriously injuring a woman in East Farmingdale this morning. Jerome Arnold was driving his 2005 Nissan Pathfinder westbound through the parking lot of Walmart when he crashed his vehicle into another vehicle and fled the scene at 10:20 a.m. Arnold then struck a parked vehicle in the nearby parking lot of Panera Bread and subsequently drove through the east side of the restaurant and into the dining room of the location.

Bay Head man survives boat sinking

A Bay Head resident along with two other crew members were rescued from the Atlantic Ocean on Saturday after the tugboat they were on sank off the shore, here, according to Suffolk County Police. Police: Unlicensed driver fleeing crash slams into East Farmingdale eatery

A 69-year-old man without a driver's license crashed into a Panera Bread restaurant in East Farmingdale on Thursday, trapping a woman under his car, while allegedly attempting to flee another crash he had been involved in, Suffolk County police said. Jerome Arnold, of Farmingdale, allegedly crashed his 2005 Nissan Pathfinder into another car in the Walmart parking lot on Broad Hollow Road in East Farmingdale just before 10:30 a.m. Thursday, police said.
